Aos 26, Bruno Silva passou a bola entre as pernas de Renê e foi na linha de fundo. O cruzamento, porém, foi nas mãos de Muralha. E o mesmo Bruno, aos 27, mandou um voleio para fora, após cobrança de escanteio.

O Glorioso era melhor nesse momento. Aos 31, Matheus Fernandes tentou um chute cruzado, de longe, e novamente fez a arquibancada suspirar.

O cronômetro marcava 44 minutos quando foi a vez de Rodinei ir ao fundo e cruzar. Gatito Fernández deu rebote, mas pegou o chute à queima-roupa de Berrío. A jogada, porém, já estava parada.

O primeiro lance de perigo do segundo tempo ocorreu apenas aos 11 minutos: Everton arrancou em diagonal e sofreu falta. Diego cobrou com capricho. A bola, teimosa que só ela, beijou a trave direita do goleiro.

E Everton apareceu de novo aos 22. Cruzamento de direita, a bola desviou em Igor rabello e saiu com perigo. Oito minutos depois, Matheus Fernandes tentou novo chute e Muralha pegou.

O lance que mudou a partida foi protagonizado por Carli, Muralha e Anderson Daronco, aos 32. O árbitro viu maldade do zagueiro botafoguense e do goleiro rubro-negro em uma dividida e expulsou ambos, aplicando cartão vermelho diretamente.

Com isso, os treinadores precisaram queimar as últimas alterações que tinham e desfiguraram suas equipes. Vinicius Junior ficou apenas oito minutos em campo e acabou “sacrificado”. Com um jogador a menos de cada lado, a partida poderia ficar mais aberta, mas o receio de um gol que, àquela altura, poderia mudar os rumos da eliminatória, deixou tanto Botafogo quanto Flamengo receosos de irem ao ataque.

Southampton’s latest Premier League match saw them secure their second league victory of the season with a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road against Watford, putting them in 14th place in the table with 11 points from their opening ten league fixtures.

One player that has not played a big part in Southampton’s current campaign that we think the club should be looking to move on in the near future is 34-year-old striker Shane Long.

So far this season, Long has played just 65 minutes of action for the Saints across all competitions from two substitute appearances in the Carabao Cup and one substitute appearance in their 1-0 defeat against Wolves back in September.

This highlights just how much of an outcast he is in the squad at this moment in time and says to us that Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl doesn’t rate him or recognise him as a useful attacking option for his team.

Southampton signed Long, who is currently earning a weekly wage of £60k-per-week according to Spotrac, back in the 2014 summer transfer window from Hull City for a reported fee of around £12m.

Since then, the striker, who is currently valued at just £1.08m according to Transfermarkt, has made a total of 229 appearances for the south coast club across all competitions in which he has managed to score only 35 goals and provide 26 assists in the process. That’s a shoddy record and one that should be expendable to the south coast side.

Looking ahead to the future, with Long’s contract at St. Mary’s set to expire next summer, we feel that it would be best for all parties if the player left the club at that point, rather than in the upcoming January transfer window. That’s just in case there are any injury issues in the second half of the season where Long might need to remain as a squad option for Hasenhuttl.

If the Saints do let Long go in the summer, we feel that the club should then be looking to bring in another striker that could fill the space in the squad so they still have enough strength in depth in that area, especially with Armando Broja set to return to Chelsea after his loan deal this season.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية خبرًا مفاجئًا بعدما استفسر تشيلسي من مانشستر يونايتد عن إمكانية التعاقد مع اللاعب هاري ماجواير في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي.

Cássio foi a principal novidade do treino do Corinthians na manhã desta quarta-feira, no CT Joaquim Grava. Apesar de ter ficado à disposição de Tite na partida das Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo contra a Colômbia no dia anterior, o goleiro voltou da Seleção junto com os outros companheiros que atuam no país, chegou ao Brasil durante a madrugada e ignorou a liberação da comissão técnica do Corinthians para comparecer aos trabalhos em campo sob o comando de Fábio Carille.

De acordo com Mauri Lima, preparador de goleiros do Corinthians, o titular da equipe havia mandado uma mensagem ainda na terça questionando sobre a possibilidade de treinar no CT mesmo liberado e acabou autorizado. Os outros jogadores que atuaram nas Eliminatórias cumpriram normalmente seu dia de desembarque no país e descanso: Fagner, que ficou no banco do Brasil na Colômbia, e Balbuena e Romero, que estavam no Paraguai. O trio se reapresenta na manhã desta quinta-feira e também será titular no clássico de domingo, contra o Santos, pela 23ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro.

Nesta quarta, Cássio treinou ao lado de outros cinco goleiros: Walter, Matheus, Caique (recuperado de fratura na mão esquerda) e Luan e Filipe, que subiram do sub-20 para completar os trabalhos. O titular do Corinthians participou do treino específico comandado por Mauri Lima ao lado dos outros e depois ficou com Caique em uma atividade mais leve.
