Maturity has been one of the reasons behind Michael Clarke’s elevation to Australia’s vice-captaincy and he showed it throughout the second day in Antigua, where he made what he described as his most special Test hundred. I know they all wanted me to come over here and do my best.”Clarke said that was also the wish of Graham Bingle. “He told me [before he died] to come over here and play,” Clarke told . “He didn’t want me to stay at home, so it was special to make this hundred for him. No doubt I wanted to make a hundred for him, no doubt because I knew he wanted me to be over here playing cricket, he didn’t want me back at home.”For a player who hasn’t appeared in a game since March, his sensible 110 was an outstanding effort. There were 12 fours, including the on-drive to bring up his hundred, before the innings ended on the 187th ball when he top edged a pull to Xavier Marshall at midwicket. Clarke wasn’t finished.His magic touch transferred to his bowling when he picked up two vital wickets before stumps, including the set Marshall. In his third over Clarke trapped Marshall lbw when he padded up on 53, and followed it up five balls later when Runako Morton’s miscued slog went to Simon Katich at short midwicket.”I’ve snuck in a couple of wickets, it was nice,” Clarke said. “I asked Ricky for a bit of a bowl a few times and I think he got sick of me asking, so he had to give me a go.”West Indies finished at 125 for 3 and Australia hold a lead of 324. “We played really well, 479 is a really good score on that wicket,” he said. “It’s going to be a tough day tomorrow, so fingers crossed we can get out there and have another bat.”

هالاند هو أحد أكثر الهدافين غزارة في كرة القدم العالمية، وسجل 85 هدفًا في 88 مباراة مع دورتموند خلال عامين ونصف العام هناك.

وودع أتباع دورتموند بعد مباراتهم الأخيرة في الدوري الألماني هذا الموسم ضد هيرتا برلين.

كان قد ارتبط بريال مدريد وبرشلونة وبايرن ميونخ وباريس سان جيرمان ومانشستر يونايتد لكن فريق جوارديولا فاز على المنافسة بتوقيعه.

أمضى والده، ألف إنجي هالاند، 3 مواسم في مانشستر سيتي خلال مسيرته الكروية، وسيكون متحمسًا لرؤية هالاند يتحول إلى فريقه السابق.

Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia is set to leave Goodison Park on loan amid interest from the Championship and beyond, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The £6,100-a-week stopper was absent from the matchday squad as the Toffees faced Manchester United in a pre-season friendly at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Portuguese made his Premier League debut in a 2-1 defeat against Burnley back in March after Jordan Pickford sustained an injury. Also, he started in a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Salford City and a 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester City in 2020/21.

Everton under-23 coach David Unsworth is huge fan of Virginia, labelling him ‘unbelievable’ and ‘fantastic’ in the past.

As per the Liverpool Echo, a move away from Goodison Park is ‘on the cards’ for Virginia, with Everton willing to green-light a loan exit for the 21-year-old.

The goalkeeper is the subject of interest from the Championship and from clubs abroad, according to the report.

The verdict

A loan move is a natural step for Virginia after the arrival of Asmir Begovic, which effectively signalled that Rafael Benitez doesn’t have confidence in him as Jordan Pickford’s immediate understudy.

He acquitted himself well against a Manchester City side which romped to the Premier League title, making four saves in that cup clash back in March. It felt like it may have been a seminal moment in his career, although it hasn’t been enough to warrant further senior game-time at Everton.

It was probably that game which made clubs sit up and take notice, and Virginia must now demonstrate that he has grown since a disappointing spell at Reading in which he only started two games. Hopefully his impending loan move, wherever the destination may be, will bring him on further.

Isso é da idade mesmo. E o Lucas passa isso. O que me falta de velocidade, ele tem de sobra. Uma coisa complementa a outra – explicou David.

A conexão em campo é clara, tendo em vista que na partida contra a Ponte Preta, pelas quartas de final no Paulista, a dupla protagonizou o gol da vitória: Lucas deu assistência e Braz marcou de voleio. E a vontade de repetir o feito no jogo desta quinta-feira, contra o Santa Fe, no Pacaembu, às 21h45, pela Libertadores, é grande. E como repetir a dose?

– Estamos preparando outra jogada ensaiada. Não dá pra falar qual é (risos), mas estamos combinando uma jogada diferente, principalmente ofensiva, né? Acho que defensiva temos dado conta – contou empolgado o companheiro de Lucas.

No que depender da dupla de zaga, o Santos terá tranquilidade na defesa e mais chance no ataque.
