Former Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer has told The Transfer Tavern in an exclusive interview that he expects Ezgjan Alioski to remain at Elland Road this summer.

Alioski’s contract is up at the end of the month and it had looked like he was on his way out of the Yorkshire club, with Galatasaray heavily linked.

However, according to Football Insider, Leeds have offered the 29-year-old a new and improved offer as they desperately try to keep hold of him.

It is all still a bit up in the air at the moment, but Palmer is tipping Alioski to eventually put pen to paper on a new deal and extend his stay at Elland Road.

“You don’t want to lose any of your good players,” the ex-Leeds star said as he discussed Alioski’s future. “The problem that you’ve got, though, is the players get their heads turned by agents who are always touting their players around.

“Obviously [Marcelo] Bielsa wants to keep him and I’m sure they’ll reach an agreement. If the player wants to stay, they’ll reach an agreement.”

It is not hard to see why Bielsa wants to retain the services of the North Macedonia international.

In the season that has just gone, Alioski missed just two Premier League games and was used in more than one position by Bielsa, showing his importance to the side.

ويجري صلاح محسن، لاعب الفريق، أشعة جديدة للاطمئنان ‏على حالته والتعرف على نسبة شفائه من الإصابة التي تعرض لها في مشطية القدم، التي ‏أبعدته عن المشاركة مع الفريق في التدريبات الجماعية، وخضع لبرنامج علاجي، ويخوض ‏مرحلة جديدة من التأهيل لتجهيزه للعودة إلى التواجد مع الفريق.‏

وحرص موسيماني، على الحديث مع الجهاز الطبي على هامش ‏مران ‏اليوم لمتابعة الملف الطبي لبعض اللاعبين الذين يقومون بتنفيذ مراحل جديدة في ‏البرامج التأهيلية ‏الخاصة بهم، لتجهيزهم للعودة من جديد إلى المشاركة في التدريبات ‏الجماعية.‏

أعلن الجهاز الفني للأهلي بقيادة بيتسو موسيماني، تشكيل الفريق لمواجهة الهلال السوداني، في المباراة المقرر لها مساء اليوم الأحد، بدوري أبطال إفريقيا.

Amid the talks with ex-Roma boss Paulo Fonseca, journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Erik ten Hag is still a contender for the job at Tottenham Hotspur (The Guardian).

The Lowdown: Spurs in advanced talks, again…

This isn’t the first time Tottenham have entered advanced discussions with a manager in the last fortnight.

Indeed, the Lilywhites made attempts for both Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte recently as well.

Pochettino was said to be eager on a return to north London but current club Paris-Saint Germain were determined to dig their heels in (The Athletic).

Thereafter, talks with Conte emerged, and at one stage he looked likely to take the job.

However, despite promising early discussions, the talks eventually broke down – leaving Spurs back at square one in the manager chase.

News broke on Wednesday night of Tottenham’s fresh managerial offer, this time for former Shakhtar Donetsk boss Fonseca.

The Latest: Romano refuses to rule out ten Hag…

Amid these advanced discussions, reliable journalist Romano has claimed that Spurs could still turn to ten Hag and he remains a contender for the role.
