Burnley have been given a clear message by Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi over their reported interest in Joe Worrall.

As per Alan Nixon, the Clarets have been linked with a move for the defender, who according to the journalist is valued at £10m by the Championship club – a fee which Burnley are not willing to even meet halfway.

Lamouchi has now made his stance on the 23-year-old clear as, when asked about the possibility of him leaving, the Forest manager told Nottinghamshire Live: “With Joe Worrall, I have been extremely clear – it is a no; no way for me.”

Nottingham Forest’s need to sell Worrall has diminished considerably in recent days after they bankrolled an initial £14m, with a potential £2m in add-ons still to come, from the sale of Matty Cash to Aston Villa.

As mentioned above, Burnley are still well short of the Championship club’s asking price for their centre-back, with Nixon tweeting this week that the Clarets are unwilling to go beyond £4m in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Sean Dyche had been running the risk of going into the new season with a shortage of centre-back experience, being forced to play youngsters Jimmy Dunne and Bobby Thomas during the midweek friendly against Preston.

However, with last season’s first-choice partnership Ben Mee and James Tarkowski both hopeful of being fit in time for their Premier League opener against Leicester in two weeks’ time, the Clarets should be adequately stocked in this area. Kevin Long is also due to come back into the frame at some stage.

With a passing success rate of 80.9%, compared to 71.4% for Mee and 70.8% for Tarkowski, Worrall could bring something different to Burnley’s back-line if he were to move to Turf Moor.

However, with neither the Clarets nor Forest seemingly willing to budge on their respective valuations of the player, and with Lamouchi emphatically indicating that he has no plans to sell him, it is perhaps time for Burnley to move on from a transfer trail which appears to be taking them nowhere fast.

وأضاف: “التأجيل جاء لـ تنقية (انتقاء) العضويات وهذا يحتاج إلى أسبوعين تقريبًا، وبالتالي سيتم تأجيل انتخابات الزمالك إلى أسبوعين أو أكثر، ولكن لن يتم تأجيلها أكثر من ذلك”.

وتابع: “المرشحون الذين تقدموا بأوراق ترشحهم للاننتخابات المُقبلة من حقهم الترشح من جديد بعد إيقاف التقديم وإعادة الفتح”.

وواصل: “الرسوم من حقهم استردادها، أو الاحتفاظ بها في النادى حتى إعادة الترشيح”.

They need to have a very good start as they already have a disadvantage after being deducted 12 points by the EFL, so they have to win three more games to be on zero.

It looks to have come as a bit of surprise to some that support Wednesday, and this is understandable for a couple of reasons. However it does highlight that the Owls were very good against Cardiff last weekend, and if they can continue to play like this, there is no doubt that supporters of the club could be in for a good season.

Três dias depois de sagrar-se hexacampeão brasileiro no Rio de Janeiro, o Corinthians só queria comemorar o título em sua nova casa pela primeira vez. Mas por que não dar um baile no rival que chama de freguês, golear por 6 a 1, com gritos de “Olé”, “É Campeão” e o “O freguês voltou”, festejar gols inesperados – quase folclóricos – e levantar a taça ao melhor estilo? Nem mesmo um sonho teria tantos elementos de glorificação como neste domingo.

Enquanto o Timão só pensava em festa, o São Paulo entrou em campo, na teoria, para seguir na briga pela vaga na Libertadores, principalmente após entrar no G4 com a vitória sobre o Atlético-MG na última rodada (por sinal, o resultado ajudou na conquista do título corintiano). Sem Ganso, lesionado, Milton Cruz deixou Luis Fabiano no banco para apostar na estrela de Kardec. Mas o time só chegou com perigo aos 15, com Rogério, que parou em Cássio após entrar sozinho na área rival.

Tite tratou de fugir da responsabilidade para não arranhar a festa e encheu sua equipe de reservas. Pior para quem? Para o São Paulo, que encontrou jogadores com vontade de mostrar serviço. A partir dos 25 minutos, Denis começou a virar o melhor do Tricolor, e nem mesmo assim evitou o pior. Felipe cabeceou, o goleiro salvou, mas Bruno Henrique fez no rebote. Logo depois, Romero arrancou em contra-ataque, cruzou e Hudson fez contra. Estava 5 a 0, como na goleada da campanha do penta conquistado pelo Corinthians de Tite em 2011.

O São Paulo fez o improvável e descontou com Carlinhos, que completou cruzamento de Kardec.Na onda dos improváveis, Romero fez mais uma bela jogada pela direita, entrou na área e sofreu pênalti de Reinaldo. Cristian bateu e ampliou: 6 a 1.

Se não bastasse tudo o que aconteceu, Alan Kardec ainda perdeu um pênalti defendido por Cássio. Ainda tem gente que não vai acreditar que passou de um sonho. Mas que sonho! Sunderland haven’t been the best operators in the transfer market over the past few years.

The Black Cats’ poor business in the Premier League saw back-to-back relegations land them in League One, and even since slumping to the third division, a number of their big-money gambles haven’t paid off, with the likes of Will Grigg scoring just five league goals since joining for £4m in 2019.

Unfortunately, their outgoings have been just as bad as their incomings, with perhaps the most famous example of this being Josh Maja, a player who left for just £3.5m halfway through a season where Sunderland were pushing for promotion.

Maja has since gone on to be valued at around £10m after a strong start to life in France, and Sunderland selling him for such a cut-price fee looks like a huge mistake.

However, despite the Maja sale being such a miscue from the men in charge at the Stadium of Light, they may have already outdone themselves with another awful deal which has seen the Black Cats ripped off.

Joe Hugill was one of Sunderland’s most highly-rated young players with youth coach Elliott Dickman describing him as a player with a lot of potential, tipping him to play for the U23s at the age of 16:

“He is showing good progress and I think he will be back with the under-18s for now, but I am sure he will be with us again.

“If he keeps doing what he is doing, he will definitely get a taste of under-23s football again.

“But at the same time, we have to make sure we look after Joe.

“We can’t push him too quickly, but the signs are there that he has good potential.”

Despite this glowing review from Dickman, Sunderland sold him this summer for just £250k, and that fee is already starting to look like a bit of a joke.

Since joining Manchester United he has netted braces on both his U18s debut and his U23s debut outshining his teammates despite representing arguably the biggest team in the world.

To be ripping it up at U23 level as a 16-year-old is an unbelievable feat, and if Hugill can get even remotely close to following in the footsteps of the likes of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, he will be worth a lot more than the £250k United spent on him.

This sale could end up being one of the worst in the Wearsiders’ history, and CEO Jim Rodwell has a lot to answer for with this one.
