The relevant Law, 37.4, reads: “Either batter is out Obstructing the field if, at any time while the ball is in play and, without the consent of a fielder, he/she uses the bat or any part of his/her person to return the ball to any fielder”.Unsurprisingly, there was reaction on social media. “Oh get a grip,” Stuart Broad posted on X. “He’s passing a stationary ball back to the fielder? Em entrevista à ‘TV Palmeiras’, Veiga relembrou toda sua trajetória no clube. Durante sua fala, o meia destacou que o empréstimo para o Athletico-PR serviu para ganhar experiência, algo que não estava acontecendo no Verdão. Pelo Furacão, o jogador esteve na conquista da Copa Sul-Americana em 2018.

Veiga afirma que retornou em 2019 ‘muito mais confiante, mas ainda tinha muita gente grande’. Naquele ano, disputou 30 jogos, com cinco gols marcados e duas assistências. Mas para o jogador, o ápice foi em 2020, com a chegada de Abel Ferreira.

– Não dava para eu ter o status de ‘eu jogo no Palmeiras’, sem jogar no Palmeiras de fato. Ai tive a decisão de ir para o Athletico. Fui muito grato lá, joguei uns 50 jogos. Quando eu voltei, em 2019, estava muito mais preparado. Em 2020 ganhei mais espaço, o Abel chegou e aí ‘o bagulho ficou louco’ – contou.

E, de fato, 2020 foi especial para o jogador. Veiga esteve presente na campanha vitoriosa da Copa Libertadores. Na Supercopa do Brasil, em 2021, foi o responsável pelos dois gols que levaram à decisão para as penalidades, contra o Flamengo. Embora tenha convertido um dos pênaltis com maestria, o Verdão foi vice-campeão.

Em 2021, marcou na final da Libertadores, novamente contra o Flamengo. Veiga foi o responsável por abrir o placar na vitória por 2 a 1, que resultou no tricampeonato do Palmeiras no continental.

No Mundial de Clubes, já neste ano, marcou contra o Al-Ahly, do Egito, na vitória por 2 a 0. Contra o Chelsea, na final,balançou as redes novamente, de pênalti, mas a partida terminou em derrota por 2 a 1.

Com estes feitos e os bons números que guarda, é visto como uma das principais peças de Abel Ferreira no elenco atual do Palmeiras. Ainda em entrevista à ‘TV Palmeiras’, contou como foi o primeiro contato com o português.

– Quando o Abel chegou, foi sequência e confiança. No campo é assim, conforme a gente vai repetindo, fica melhor. No primeiro treino com Abel, ele colocou uns cones em campo e disse ‘vai para a posição que vocês gostam’, bateu uma foto e anotou. Ele viu mesmo onde eu gostava de jogar e aí foi fluindo – contou.

But with two left-handers in Head and Abhishek Sharma opening for Sunrisers, they began with the offspin of batting allrounder Will Jacks. He found turn in the first over, and conceded just seven. His second over was even better, going for just four.And yet, Sunrisers put up 76 in the powerplay, the third time they had gone past 70 during that phase of the innings this season. By then, Head had motored to his half-century off 20 balls.
